Jan Pociernicki is a native of Pennsylvania.  She works in oils, water media, and collage.  In the past 18 years her work has been juried into 135 shows including one-person, international, national, regional, and local.  Her works have included private and corporate collections in the United States and abroad and in Merrick Art Gallery’s permanent collection.

 

Jan has studied with M. Douglas Walton, Skip Lawrence, Linda Fruhwald, Philip Salsato, Marilyn Hughey Phillis, Miles Batt, James, Sulkowski, William Vrscak, Donald Graeb and other names.

 

Art affiliations are Associated Artists of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Society of Artiists, Pittsburgh Watercolor Society, Hoyt Artists Association, Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, West Hills Art League, Beaver Valley Artists, North Hills Art Center, and the Merrick Art Committee.

 

She is currently Co-chair of the Pittsburgh Watercolor Society’s “Aqueous 2008” International Show.  Past positions held were President and Historian of Beaver Valley Artists and President of West Hills Art League.

 

Jan’s biography is included in the biographical references “Who’s Who of American Women”, “Who’s Who in Amreica”, and “Who’s Who in the World”.

“Life is art – art is life.”  A belief in the beauty of all life has led to the creation of art that is a celebration of the subject matter.  Hopefully you will enjoy my “vision” of a small piece of the world and it will make your life a little brighter and more joyful.
